Pre-Planning Funding Options

Funeral Home Columbus Ohio

Graumlich Funeral Home & Cremation Services Located In Columbus Ohio

Has Your Best Interest In Mind In Collaborating With You In The

Pre-Planning And Prefunding Of Services.

Three Funding Options Are Available For Pre-need Contracts.

Options For Pre-Need Contracts

1.   Irrevocable Pre-Need Ohio Funeral Directors Association Master Trust Fund Contract to Pre-Fund services.

Guaranteed Contract- There is an option to Guarantee Services. Non-Guarantee items on Contract are the Cash Advanced Items (Certified Death Certificates, Burial or Cremation Permit, Motorcycle Escort, Newspaper Obituary and etc) . These are "third party" items and cannot be guaranteed because these are outside of the funeral home.

However, Graumlich Funeral Home recommends putting the "current day" charges on contract to help minimize the differences owed at time of death.

Non-Guaranteed Contact- The charges will be what the current rate charges are at time of death. If there is a "deficit" of funds on contract at time of death, the family will be responsible for paying the deficit or adjusting the merchandise to offset the deficit. If there is an "excess" of funds remaining on contract at time of death, the family has the option to upgrade merchandise and/or receive the excess amount back. However, if the beneficiary/deceased was receiving full Medicaid care at time of death, the excess in funds will go to the State of Ohio.

2.   Irrevocable Pre-Need Contract using your own Life Insurance Policy (Individual Policy)  With this option Life Insurance Policy cannot be prepaid or guaranteed.

Funds will only be available after the death has occurred and a Death Certificate submitted to the Insurance Company.

The charges will be at the rate of current charges are at the time of death. This type of contract will be explained in more detail through conversation with one of the funeral directors.

3.   Or a Combination of options of 1 and 2 listed above can be done.

The options above are a brief summary. The funeral directors will explain in more detail

each option available through conversation over the phone or in person at a scheduled consultation.

Graumlich Funeral Home always suggest that a decision to proceed with the pre-funding of services should only take place when you are comfortable to do so.
