Walter Land, age 80, of Columbus, born September 5, 1933 in Delbarton, West Virginia, passed away after a brief illness on May 22, 2014 at Grant Medical Center. He is preceded in death by son, Walter Jr. Land; parents, Aaron and Nancy Land; brother, Jimmy Land, and sister, Violet Rundels. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Land; daughter-in-law, Jan Barton; grandson, David Aaron Land; sisters, Polly Kirk and Letha Starr; brother, Everett Land, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Walter retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of Good Shepherd Community Church. For many years Walter was a square dancer with High Notes & Wheelers 969. Member of the Line Dance Club and the Golden Agers of the Obetz Recreation Center. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #11 International. Visitors will be received Thursday, May 29, 2014 beginning at 9 a.m. with memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Rev. Dr. William L. Snider officiating.
