Thomas Sparks

Thomas Sparks, age 83, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 12, 2012 after a brief illness. Born July 20, 1928 in Lawrence County, KY to the late Fred and Sallie Sparks. He was a member of the South Columbus Freewill Baptist Church, and 32nd Degree member of Southgate-Potter Lodge No. 782 F&AM. Retired from Buckeye Steel Castings, after 41 years of dedicated service. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, James and Walter Sparks, sisters, Cora Potter, Gertrude Ross, Mae Himberg, Reva Wellman and Frances Bellomy. Survived by wife of over 60 years, Dian Sparks; daughters, Anna Caldwell, Helen (Joe) Nickels, and Janet (Charlie) Kocher; grandchildren, Stacy Fletcher, Lori Hatzer, Rodney and James Caldwell, Jennifer Williams, and Aaron Kocher; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Homer and Harland Sparks; sister, Chloe Lewis; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.,Rev. Richard Hensley officiating. Interment Obetz Cemetery. A special thank you to Vitas Hospice for their care and support. Thomas was the foundation of our family and will be deeply missed by all of us.
