Theodore Thompson Jr, age 90 passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, February 21, 2021.
He was born January 21, 1931 to the late Theodore Sr. and Emma Thompson. Ted served his country through service in the Army. Ted was a buyer for Smith Bros. Hardware for 27 years and worked for Architectural Hardware and Ott Inc. Ted was an enthusiastic OSU sports fan and loved fishing. He enjoyed euchre card parties with friends and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was married for 44 years to his beloved wife Sandra (Gearhart) Thompson; the two were inseparable until her death in 2001. Ted was a devout Christian, loved to sing church hymns and served as elder and other leadership roles at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and St. Paul’s Lutheran church. He recently moved to Westerville and made many friends at Inniswood Retirement Village as well as Lamb of God Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his two children Christopher (Deborah) Thompson and Lori (Larry) Witt. Grandchildren Emily and Maggie Thompson, Jim Moehrman Jr, Andrea ( Alfonso) Landin, Valarie (Jon) Hannahs and great-grandchildren Benjamin, Isabella, Gabriella, Sebastian, Isaac, Lana and Luke. Two sisters Carol (Tim) Kelly Sr. and JoAnn Thompson. Close friends and relatives Virginia Ward and Alison Dowd, Tim (Chelsea) Kelly Jr. and Lisa (Monti) Pierce. Ted is preceded in death by a brother Carl and sister Mary Catherine.
Family will receive friends, Friday, February 26, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St. Columbus, Ohio. Funeral service Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11 am. (Viewing beginning at 10 a.m.) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 322 Stewart Avenue, Columbus Ohio 43206 with Pastor Snowden G. Sims and Pastor Thomas Messiner officiating, followed by military honors. Burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bremen, Ohio. Social distancing and mask wearing guidelines required.
