Ronnie Bowman, age 89, born March 17, 1935, to James Dillard and Anna Marie Bragg Bowman in Proctorville, Ohio passed away October 31, 2024 peacefully and quietly in Grove City, Ohio. Ron is preceded in death by 1 Brother; James Dillard Bowman Jr. and 5 Sisters; Rosalie, Juanita, Evelyn, Wanda, and Doris; Ronnie was the youngest child. Ronnie graduated from Chesapeake High School as the School's Valedictorian in 1953. Ronnie met and married Diane Melinda Blair in 1956 and the couple enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Ronnie was drafted into the Army in 1957 serving Honorably attached to the 10th Special Forces Group in Korea. Ronnie rose to the position of Sargent(E-5) and completed his Tour in Korea 2 years later. He remained an active Member in the Armed Forces serving in The Reserves for 6 subsequent years before his separation and Honorable Discharge from The Service. Ronnie was a Self-Employed Salesman providing for his family in grand style. After a 70-year career in Sales, Ronnie finally retired due to medical issues eventually leading to his final 6-months convalescence. Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of Hard-Work, dedication, a singular personality, a deep love of Ohio State Athletics, a loving wife Diane Melinda Blair Bowman and their 3 adult children: Daughter Lisa June Bowman of Bath, England, Timothy Alan Bowman (wife Lisa) of Columbus, Ohio, and Christopher Blair Bowman (wife Janel) also of Columbus, Ohio. 14 Grand Children are dispersed among Ronnie's 3 Children and 6 Great Grand Children round out Ronnie's Family. Ronnie led a life worthy of honoring. Ron had a very direct and easy to understand directive: "Hard Work Solves All Problems!" Ronnie's irreverent personality, his positive attitude, and his desire to use each day as his if it were his last will be sorely missed in this world.
