Roger A. "Buddy" Fortney, born in Fairmont, W.Va., on October 30, 1942 died October 15, 2010. Served in U.S. Navy and Navy Seabees Reserve, (retired in 1997). Roger was an appliance technician with Lazarus for 23 years and also worked at Sun TV and Wasserstrom. Roger loved to visit with friends and family and his Seabee Bar and he enjoyed working in his yard, beautiful women and karaoke. Lifetime member and Past Commander of VFW Post #2505; lifetime member of Amvets #1312 and member of American Legion Southway Post No. 144. Preceded in death by mother Dorothy Powell; father Hershel Fortney and Grandma Powell. Survived by wife and best friend Brenda Grove; mother-in-law Betty Grove; brothers-in-law Ron Grove and Rick Grove (Sheri); special family Ed and Rose Muncy and Dennis and Marsha Lot. Friends may call on "Buddy" Saturday October 23, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street with a memorial service with military honors to follow at VFW Post #2505 at 5 p.m. located 588 London-Groveport Rd., Lockbourne OH., 43137.
