Pearl Elizabeth "Bette" Hickman, age 79, of Columbus, died September 12, 2007 at home. Instructor for IBM and Hamilton Township High School. Bette was a loyal Republican and enjoyed freelance writing, crossword puzzles and gardening She is preceded in death by husband, James Hickman; Survived by daughters, Gwen (Gary) Ball of Columbus and Susan (Brian) Mills of SC; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brandon) Creek, Jennifer Ball, Brandt and Tyler Mills, Wayne, Charles and Joanna Hickman; 8 great grandchildren;

step-granddaughters, Sherrie Moore and Talana Brier; sister, Mary Boyling; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Goodwin; numerous nieces and nephews; Family will receive friends Friday 5-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Saturday 10 a.m., Pastor Kent Hollis officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
