Melinda Atchison

Melinda D. Atchison, age 52, of Columbus, passed away December 9, 2015 at home while holding her sister's hand as she entered into Heaven to reunite with her mom and dad. Melinda was a special needs Angel, called home too soon after a sudden, brief battle with cancer. From the age of 3, Melinda attended various programs, including CHAP (Children Have a Potential), FCMR/DD, ARC Industries, United Cerebral Palsy, and the Goodwill Columbus/SAGE Program. Melinda was a very loving and caring person and always appreciated the smaller things in life, bringing and giving joy to all she met.

Preceded in death by father, Bennie E. (Ret. USAF of 20 yrs) and mother, Shirley P. Atchison. Survived by loving and devoted sister, Lynn (Joe) Fasone; niece, Mandy Fasone Minshall; aunt, Carmelita (Donnie) Varvel and cousins; very dear friends, Julie Webb and grandma Betty.

Family will receive friends for viewing on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 beginning at 3 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Chaplain Suzan McChrystal officiating. Melinda's remains will be placed with her very loving mother.
