Mary Poenisch

Mary Lucille Persig Poenisch, age 88, born February 4, 1920 in Marion, Ohio, passed away December 3, 2008 at Outlook Manor in Westerville. Mary was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in German Village where she was very active and involved in Altar Guild, Vacation Bible School, and with the Mother and Daughter Banquet. Graduate of South High School, Class of 1938. Member of Southeast Conservation Club; Past President of Southeast Lion Ladies Auxiliary. Worked for many years for Poenisch's Capital Rug Cleaning Co. She is preceded in death by husband, Richard Poenisch who she married in 1940; parents, William and Florence Persig; beloved daughters, Karen Litsinberger and Kristen Howard; beloved grandson, Billy; Mary is survived by granddaughter, Laura (Mike) Strickland of Westerville; great-grandchildren, Mallory, William and Avery; sister, Dorothy J. Zubovich of Columbus; son-in-law, Roger Howard of Galena; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street. Service Friday 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 322 E. Stewart Ave., Columbus OH 43206, Pastor Kevin Cortez officiating. Entombment Green Lawn Cemetery.
