Martha Stevens

Martha J. Nelson, 87 of Columbus passed away peacefully at her home on July 30, 2012. She was born in Greenup, Ky and then moved to Ohio at a very young age. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Nelson, two grandsons, and her parents Thomas and Myrtle Salyers. Surviving are her six children: Raymond (Linda) Nelson of Columbus, Linda (Don) Marcum of TX., Josephine Bowen of TN, Elizabeth Nelson of MI, George (Elsie) Nelson of Jackson, Gracy (Charlie) Arthur of Columbus. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was dearly loved by all and will sadly be missed. She now will be in the loving arms of Jesus and suffer no more. A special thanks to two of her great-granddaughters Christina ( Nelson) McCarty and Hope Duff for all the love and care they shared freely with their great grandmother during these difficult months. Visiting hours will begin at 4 p.m. on August 1st at the home of her son, Raymond Nelson in Columbus, Ohio. On Thursday August 2nd, she will then be transported to Trippieville United Baptist Church off State Route 35 on Elam Road. in Jackson, Ohio. Additional visitation at the church on Thursday beginning at noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m., Pastor Jim Holbrook officiating. Interment to follow service at Hickman Cemetery off of Springer Rd off State Route 35. Arrangements by GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio.
