Louis "Lou" Snyder, age 79 of Groveport, was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 17, 1932 and was called home April 7, 2012. He was the son of the late Louis and Myrtle Snyder. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Vi Snyder; daughter, Sheri (Sal) Abramonte of Monterey, CA; son, Jeffrey (Tina) Snyder of Ashville, OH; 5 grandchildren, Sallie (Jaime) Alvarez of Santa Barbara, CA., Suzie Abramonte of Monterey, CA., and Grant, Noah, and Zachery Snyder of Ashville, OH; brothers, Robert (Bev) Snyder of Gahanna, OH., and Howard (Pat) Snyder of San Diego, CA; sister, Mary O'Rourke of Cortland, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Snyder. He is a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Following military service he worked for Tom Benua's Mens Store and Keebler Cookies of Columbus, OH., and over 35 years with Archway Cookies of Ashland, OH. The job he enjoyed most was his post retirement employment with Canal Winchester Transportation. He was an active member of several service organizations, including Groveport Lions Club, Groveport Lodge No. 240 F&AM, and the Aladdin Shrine, of which he was involved with in the Legion of Honor, the Jesters, and the Chanters. Lou was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where he served as a Trustee on the Vestry. He was best known for his witty personality, bright smile, sparkling blue eyes, and snow white hair. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street. Service Tuesday 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 80 E. Markison Ave., Pastor Floyd L. Stolzenburg officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the Shriners' Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospice, or your preferred charity. Masonic Service Monday 7:30 p.m.
