Leonard Chesonis

Leonard A. "Leo" Chesonis, 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home after a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Shenandoah, PA on March 30, 1927. Retired USAF veteran of WW II, Berlin Air Lift, Vietnam, and the Cold War. Preceded in death by parents, John and Teckla Chesonis, wife of 59 years, Caroline "Carrie" Chesonis, step-father, Stephen Chersky, brother, Edward Chesonis, sisters, Tillie Muniz and Julia Morris, nephews, John Muniz and John Chesonis. Survived by sons, Anthony (Cynthia) Chesonis and Michael (Julie) Chesonis; grandchildren, Scott (Teri) Chesonis, Brenda (Raymond) Guman, Stephanie Wilcox (Tony Fickeisen), Ryan Chesonis (Emily Stone), Jason (Shannon) Chesonis; great-grandchildren, Jonathon Guman, Amanda Guman, Aidden McIntosh, Logan Chesonis; many relatives in the USA, England, France, and Spain. He was employed by the S.M. Flickinger Co. and later the Scrivner Co. grocery warehouse. He enjoyed family gatherings and seeing his grandchildren grow up. Leo will be missed by many. The family would like to thank Dr. David Marques, Dr. Charles Mason, Rose, RN (retired), Angie, RN, Jeannine Tongret, hospice RN, Stacy, social worker, and the staff of Home Reach Hospice and Kobacker House for the wonderful care they provided. Visitation will be held Monday, December 26 from 4 - 8 PM and Tuesday, December 27 from 10AM - 12PM at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St. Private family service.
