Lenard Carlson

Lenard "Sam" James Carlson, age 69, passed away April 2, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice in South Carolina. Born in Superior WI, he was the husband of Janet May Black Carlson and the son of Helen Majeski Carlson of Superior, WI and the late Leonard Carlson. Mr. Carlson was a United States Air Force Veteran and was retired from Civil Service, the United States Air Force and Huntington National Bank. He was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by son Dale Carlson and wife, Zwanda of Bellevue, NE; a daughter, Sheri Wernert and her husband, Bill of Logan, Ohio; brother James Carlson and his wife, Lynda of Superior WI; 3 sisters Barbara Meronek and husband Tom of Spart WI., Patricia Carlson of FL., and Judy Longshore and husband Dennis of Poplar, WI; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Charleston and husband Joe, Amanda Starr and husband, Jason, Craig Wernert, Dale "D.J." Carlson Jr., and Katharine Carlson; 5 great-grandchildren; Visitation Wednesday April 6, 2011 from beginning at 4 p.m. with service to follow at 7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St. Additional services and burial Friday April 8, 2011 in Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
