Lance W. Essex, age 59, passed away on February 25, 2024, with family at his side. Lance served his country in the United States Air Force, as a KC-135A Air Refueling Specialist in Strategic Air Command. As an air refueling specialist, he refueled aircraft all over the world from many different countries. After his tour in the Air Force, Lance became an Advanced EMT, emergency room technician working at several venues. He also worked on ambulance crews and on Nationwide Children’s Hospital mobile clinic units. Lance’s hobbies included building scale model aircraft, watching Formula 1 and NASCAR races, and reading anything aviation related. He loved visiting the Air Force Museum and being with his family. Lance is preceded in death by his parents Billy and Beverly Essex; sisters, Melodee, and Nannette. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Essex; son, Andy (Carole)Essex; two grandchildren; brother, Rick Essex and numerous nieces and nephews
Family will receive friends Saturday, March 9, 2024 beginning at 1:30 pm until time of Memorial Service at 2:30 pm, followed with Military Honors at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High St., Columbus OH.
