Juanita Marcum

Juanita "Jo" Marcum, 89 of Bucyrus, Ohio formally of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9th at Heartland of Bucyrus.

She was born Oct. 20, 1926 in Shawnee, Ohio in Perry County; she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Estella (Paskell) Opperman. She was preceded in death by her husband James Marcum and brother Robert "Bob" Opperman.

She was a 1944 graduate of Shawnee High School. Shortly after graduation she moved to Columbus and began her career working for the former Buckeye Union Insurance Company, retiring from there after many years of service.

She is survived by sister in law Carolyn Opperman; nieces Debbie Opperman of Ontario, Ohio and Denise (Shawn) Livingston of Galion, Ohio; nephew Dale (Tracie) Opperman of Shelby, Ohio; great nieces, Nicole (Andy) Claus of Galion, Ohio and Jena Opperman of Shelby, Ohio; great-great niece Katelynn Claus; great-great nephew Nolan Claus.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 beginning at 2:30 PM at Graumlich Funderal Home, 1351 S. High St., with Deacon Harry Turner officiating.
