Joyce Alspach

Joyce Virginia Alspach, 85, died at 12:30am, July 13, 2007 at OSU East Medical Center, Columbus.

She was born August 7, 1921 in Lancaster, Ohio to Clement W.and Fawn C. Holland Alspach, who preceded her in death.

Ms. Alspach was a professional photographer from 1938 until the time of her death. She owned Joyce Studio that was located in Bexley and Lancaster, servicing numerous school contracts and photographing countless weddings. Her experience also included children's portraits, senior portraits, family portraits, executive portraits, little league teams, ice hockey and even an impressive try at movie-making. One of her longest running contracts involved photographing Buckeye Girl's State group portraits at Capital University from 1947 until 1979.

She was a member of the Professional Photographers of America, a charter member of the Professional Photographers of Ohio and a member of the Professional Photographers of Central Ohio where she served on the board of directors. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was involved with the Bexley High School Alumni Association. She also enjoyed her friends in the MCL Supper Club, which convened in the MCL at Kingsdale Shopping Center.

Joyce leaves behind her three loving companions Brigitta, Missy and Gavin, who will dearly miss her.

Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street, Pastor Floyd L. Stolzenburg officiating. Interment Forest Rose Cemetery in Lancaster.
