John C. Hamler

John Charles Hamler, age 72, of Columbus, passed away January 3, 2023. Member of Zion Lutheran Church and loved The Lord and music. Graduate of Groveport High School, Class of 1968. Enlisted in military July 1968, served 10 years with honorable discharge. Enjoyed Ham Radio throughout military career until now. Started inmate ministries in 2014 and ministered 180 inmates. John was working to get a Christian Leadership degree. Retired from Toledo Scales. John was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Preceded in death by wife, Ardella Hamler, sister, Donna Putnum, brother, Phillip Hamler, daughters, Teresa Thompson, and Mary Scott. Survived by daughters, Deidra Hamler, Cynthia Thompson, and Angela Greene; sons, John R. Hamler, James A. Hamler, Dennis Yoder, Wes Henry, and William Greene; 9 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends, Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43207. Funeral service Monday, January 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 766 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43206, Pastor Wes Hromowyk officiating. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
