JoeAnne Carpenter

JoeAnne Lewis Carpenter, age 75, of Columbus, passed away November 23, 2010 at Mt. Carmel West Medical Center. Survived by husband Waldo F. "Wally" Carpenter of Columbus; sons Rick Lewis, Michael P. (Charlene) Lewis and daughter-in-law Pam Lewis; sisters Debbie (John) Hudson and Janet Fornash; brother Thomas Grimes; grandchildren Erin (John) Butler, Laura (Tony) Vekas, Jennifer Barrett, Amanda Lewis, and Sarah Lewis; great-grandchildren, Sydney Trinity, Jayden, Mark, and Maleah. Preceded in death by her parents Richard A. and Bertha M. Grimes; husband Charles C. "Chuck" Lewis; son James R. Lewis; sisters Rebecca Grimes, Doris McLoughlin, and Rita Shepard. Also survived by step-daughters Teresa (Fred) Scharf and Diane (Robert) Sokol; step-son Eric Lynch; step-grandchildren, Zachary Scharf, Amanda Scharf, and McKenna Sokol. JoeAnne was a member of Walnut Hill United Methodist Church. JoeAnne sufferd a massive stroke after undergoing open heart surgery in 2003. Since then, her husband, Wally has been her dedicated companion and he will miss having her by his side. Visitation Friday 6-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S.
