Jody Carrico

Jody Marie Carrico of Stoutsville, age 36, died peacefully March 12, 2009 at her parents' home after a 6 year battle with breast cancer. She is preceded in death by the sudden loss of her loving husband Detective Marty Martin with the Franklin County Sheriff's Dept, grandfather Thomas Tomsic, grandparents Charles and Gussie Carrico. Jody is survived by her parents George and Nancy Carrico of Groveport, brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Kosby Carrico of Delaware, OH., step-son Kyle Martin, grandmother Alwilda Tomsic, cousins Jennifer (Dan) Davia, Jeff (Deysha) Hicks, aunt Janet (Paul)Harris, great aunts/uncles, cousins, many special friends and her always faithful dog, Sydney. Jody lived her life with courage, strength, determination and love. She was a loving wife, step-mother, daughter, sister and friend. As an entrepreneur she has taken on many careers; travel agent, owner of the first Doggie Daycare Center in Columbus, Avenues of Art Embroidery, and Liberty Farms. She was involved with the Young Survival Coalition and was an inspiration to so many women. Through her efforts she started the first therapy group for young women with metastatic breast cancer in Columbus. She was treasurer of the Scioto Valley Beekeepers, loved to garden, travel, and enjoyed every day of her life to the fullest. She taught all who knew her what was important in life. She will be dearly missed. Visitation Sunday 2-6 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street. Service Monday 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus OH 43215, Rev.
