Joan Will

d. April 9, 2017

On Monday April 9th Joan W. Will passed on at The Wexner Center in Columbus Ohio. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband James. Her parents Helen and Sheldon D. Johnson Sr., brothers Sheldon Jr., Bill and Jerry. Survived by sons Dennis (Rita) Will, and Chris Bodish ( Debra), grandchildren Victoria and Richard of Illinois . A quiet peaceful end to an amazing life. Her life was one filled with all of the trials that this child of the Great Depression could take, and she dealt with these challenges with her undying wit, fortitude and grace... helped by generous dollops of love and ice cream on a daily basis. Born in Orient Ohio, she lived the majority of her life in Columbus Ohio, except for 2 yrs during WWII. Along with the title of Mom and Grandma which she adored, she was "Aunt Jo" to numerous nieces and nephews, and became a great-great Aunt recently. Survivors also include Ruth Johnson wife of brother Sheldon, who has kept up her friendship since their days together at Hamilton Township. Joan post- graduation worked for the VA during the war. After raising her 2 sons, she returned to work at the DCSC and retired to have a lengthy ongoing marriage filled with family and activities with her husband Jim. Her dry wit , perfect timely advice whether solicited or not will be missed by all . To celebrate Joan's life a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday the 13th at 10:00 am at St. Catherine Church 500 S Gould Road Columbus, with private interment to follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends for a visitation at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME 1351 S. High St., on Thursday from 6-8pm.
