Jethro Kendrick

Jethro Kendrick, age 94, of Columbus, OH, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Kobacker House. Born March 15, 1931, in Tribbey, KY, he was the second of seven children to the late George Ben and Mae E. Kendrick.

Jethro served in the United States Army for 24 years, retiring as Sergeant First Class in 1974. He received numerous honors, including the Army Occupational Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal. A lifetime 3rd degree member of St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7 and a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason, Jethro worked for the Defense Supply Center Columbus for 22 years after his military service.

He was a dedicated member of Refuge Baptist Church for 68 years, where he served as Deacon Emeritus, Trustee, and volunteered in various ministries. He was deeply committed to his family, particularly his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline. Jethro enjoyed outdoor activities, playing cards, and shooting pool. His advice, support, and presence will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, stepson Natalino, and grandson Jethro Kendrick III. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, stepdaughter Isabella Caffey, son Jethro Jr., daughter Milvia, brother Daymon, granddaughters Danielle, Andrea, and Isabella, and great-grandchildren Peyton, Kyndle, and Kylen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kobacker House or the Alzheimer’s Association in Jethro’s name.

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2025, beginning at 3 p.m. until the funeral service at 6 p.m. (funeral service will be lived stream) at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207, Reverend David Mason will officiate, and military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army immediately following the service.
