Jennifer C. Roehl (Baker), 43, passed away on April 1, 2021 with her devoted wife and family by her side after a long and courageous battle. Jen was a loving wife, supportive sister, cherished daughter, beloved cat mom, and the most generous aunt in the world, with her love and her encouragement. She graduated from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and earned her Master of Education from Ashland University. Her professional career was spent teaching math and science for Columbus Public City Schools, including service at Clinton Elementary, Colerain Elementary, and Columbus Afrocentric. Jen dedicated her life to teaching—her students and everyone else who crossed her path—not only about her favorite subjects, but also how to live honestly, treat the sick with dignity, persevere through adversity, and most importantly, how to love whole-heartedly. She enjoyed performing in community theater where she could sing, dance, and act larger than life, just like all of her close friends and family knew her to be. She was also passionate about caring for animals, especially giving a warm and loving home to her many dear cats who were like children to her. Jen was greeted with open arms by her mother, Catherine Baker. Her surviving family awaits their joyous reunion; wife, Carie; father, Hoyt (Louise) Baker; sister, Jessica (Joe Rosen) Dawes; brothers, Jason (Jill) Baker, Josh (Brittany) Baker; nieces, Alana, Ava and Eisley; nephew, Ezra. On behalf of Jen, the family would like to express their gratitude to the many friends, colleagues, and medical staff who have supported her on this journey.
Family will receive friends, Sunday, April 11, 2021 beginning at 12 noon with memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, OH., Rev.
