James Willard Chapman, age 85, died July 2, 2010, at Winchester Place in Canal Winchester. Born November 15, 1924 in Delbarton, W.Va. to the late James Monroe Roy Chapman and Tennessee Chapman. Devoted husband of 57 years and father. His legacy in faith, God, and family will live forever. Longstanding member of West Broad St. Church of Christ. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his devoted wife Beatrice; granddaughter Danielle Nicole Chapman; son-in-law Kenneth Alexander; brothers Emmanuel, John, Thomas, Charles, Garland, and Shayde Chapman; sisters Venita Dingess and Virginia Chapman; Survived by sons James "Randy" (Janie) Chapman, Rickey Chapman, and Shawn Chapman; daughters Judy Alexander, Jackie (Paul) Evans, and Tammy (Ron) Eblin; 13 grandchildren; brothers Don, Dave, and Dale Chapman; sister Betty (Claude) Brown; U.S. Army / Air Force Veteran of WWII serving two terms in which he flew 32 missions in the Europe, Normandy, and France Campaigns. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Battle Stars, Air Medal with 4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; WII Victory Medal, and WWII Honorable Service Medal. Lifetime member of VFW and Amvets. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S.
