Jackson and Marge Taylor

Marge B. Taylor born in Columbus Ohio, on Jan 22 1933 and passed away on Sept 21, 2021, daughter of Ruth and Ray Brooks.

Jackson C Taylor born in Obetz, Ohio on April 2, 1931 and passed away on April 5, 2021, son of Hazel & Cecil Taylor.

Survived by their sons Michael Jay Taylor of Niwot, CO and Jack Edwin Taylor of Longmont, CO. Preceded in death by their son, Matthew Alan Taylor of Columbus, OH. Both Marge and Jackson died in the comforts of their own home in Longmont, CO surrounded by their family and very close friends. Marge and Jackson both were proud graduates of old West HS in Columbus. They married in their early 20’s and enjoyed 66 years of marriage and now reunited to live in eternity.

Jackson was a proud veteran of the US Marines Corps serving at the tail end of the Korean War. He was a very committed employee of IBM, Big Blue, for 30 years. Although he had many accomplishments his greatest were the creation and development of the IBM electric ball typewriter in Lexington, KY and then Copiers I, II and III in Boulder CO. He was also very proud of the fact he lived in retirement longer than he worked. Jackson enjoyed fishing and sharing this love with his friends and family.

Marge was a great homemaker supporting a family of 3 boys and shared her wonderful smile and laugh with her friends. To this day friends talk about the beautiful quilts she created along with other loving artistic gifts she shared with many. Marge and Jackson were loved by many as they gave so much of themselves and service to others. They supported Project Open Hand/Lifecare Alliance of Columbus. POH is a feeding service created by Matthew Taylor and to this day still feeds those in need in the greater Columbus area including those living with HIV/AIDs. Many nights were spent in the basement of Local Columbus churches supporting their son's dream of helping his friends, himself and others preparing meals and many trips to the Columbus good bank in Marge’s little blue truck and delivering to the Lifecare food Bank to help those in need. They also loved a lifetime of watching baseball and the families and friends who came along with it. They would both look forward to going to a ballgame as Jack Edwin played and then coached young men for over 20 years. They also shared amazing love with their grandson Henry Taylor so very much. Henry was the benefactor of grandpa's knowledge and grew up with grandma's cooking as they would pick him up from school and share their love and lessons.

A big thank you to their neighbors, HomeCare of the Rockies and Tru Hospice who all provided companionship and comfort for them and the whole family.

Visitation Friday, October 1, 2021 beginning at 12 Noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St, Columbus, OH 43207, Pastor Steve Sherrod officiating. Interment to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

A Reception will be held by family from 3 -5 pm at Benfield Christian Church 146 Benfield Ave, Columbus, OH 43207. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Project Open Hand/Lifecare Alliance of Columbus, 1699 W. Mounds St Columbus OH or Tru Hospice CO.
