Howard Cain

Howard L. Cain, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2009. Born October 9, 1920 in Tribble, W.VA., spent his childhood on the family farm, on Cain Ridge. After serving in the U.S. Army, Howard married his sweetheart, Annabel (Hill), on December 7, 1946; together they moved to Columbus on the day of their wedding. After 34 years of faithful service, Howard retired from "the greatest job on earth, " the C&O Railroad. Preceded in death by parents Jim and Millie Cain and 3 siblings. Creating a wonderful life with his wife and 5 children was his greatest accomplishment. Survived by wife of 62 years, Annabel; children, Donnie (Carol) Cain, Karen Sweitzer, Kathy Craig, Randy (Sally) Cain and Tracy Cain; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and 1 brother. Visitation Sunday 2-6 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Monday 10:30 a.m., Rev. Steve Palmer officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
