Helen Waneta (Pearce) Peter, age 88, joined hands with Jesus in God's glory on August 10, 2008. She was met by her husband of 66years Leslie, parents, William Franklin Pearce and Leona May (Burkett) Pearce, as well as her brothers, Franklin, John and George. She is survived by her sons, Howard Peter of Columbus, Jan (Linda) Peter of Toledo, and Kevin (Vicki) Peter of Columbus; daughters, Anna Mae (Frank) England, of Columbus and Marie (David) Gulish of Columbus; grandchildren, Corey, Valerie, Kelly, Thomas, Aimee, A.J., Lainee, and Lilee. Helen spent her youth in Kokomo, Indiana, and raised her family in Mansfield and Columbus, Ohio. After raising her own family and sharing responsibility with her husband, of fostering children for Franklin County Children's Services, and working at Saint Anthony Hospital for 25 years as a switchboard operator, she retired to a quiet life of family and friends. Her down to earth attitude and strong belief in God helped her through good and bad times, and gave her children a strong sense of self, and the strength to face life with all its joys and sorrows. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St. Service Thursday 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Community Church, 210 Obetz Rd., Columbus, Oh., Rev. Dr. William L. Snider officiating. Interment Arlington Field of Honor.
