Harold L. Duckworth, age 83, of Upper Arlington, passed away June 16, 2015 at his home. He has joined his loving wife, Phyllis of 53 years. Harold was born in Brookfield, MO to Virgil and Dorothy (Ingerson) Duckworth. He spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy aboard the battleship USS Iowa BB-61 and was a Korean War Veteran. Moving to Columbus in 1956, he worked and retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio after 38 years of service. He was a devoted member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church were he served as a Deacon and Trustee. Harold was an avid baseball and softball player. Past President of the Central Ohio Basketball Officials Association, and officiated high school games for 22 years. In addition to his wife, Harold is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Lola Jean Kehr of Meadeville, MO. Surviving are his two daughters, Kelley (Henry) Brickey of Plain City, OH, and Kimberly (Jeff) Perret of Mansfield, OH; two brothers-in-laws, William and Jon Coon of Columbus, OH, and numerous cousins.
Family will receive friends Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street. Private Family service Monday with burial to follow at Fernwood Cemetery in Lockbourne, Pastor Floyd L. Stolzenburg officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to Mt.
