(CSM) George Lincoln Young, age 89 of Groveport, born Feb. 12, 1929 in Kingston, Ohio, passed away peacefully at The Blanton House, Grove City, on January 9, 2019. Devoted and loving to his family and friends. Son of Minerva Helen Young and Millard E. Young.
Survived by his wife, Carolyn (Forshey) Young. Son, George Millard Young and his cat, Barney. Daughters, Deborah Kay (Lee) Silar and Judith Ann Young, (LeRoy Bowman). Great-grandchildren, Ethan R. Silar, Brooklyn T. Cochran and Khloe C. Cochran. Step-children, Judy Miller and Peggy (Glenn) Weber; 6 Step-Grandchildren; 2 Step Great-Grandchildren., nieces, nephews, Preceded in death by, his only Granddaughter, Erin Leigh Silar and sister, Vera Sweazy.
Retired from PA/Conrail Railroads and retired after 40 years of military service as CSM (Command First Sargent Major) from the United States Army/Reserve. Served in The Korean War Conflict for 4 years. Member of Lockbourne United Methodist Church, Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Retired Enlisted Assoc., and Armed Forces E9. Graduated from Hamilton Township High School, 1947 Championship Baseball Team.
Family will receive friends, Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 1 – 4 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10 a.m., Pastor ViJay Buck and Chaplain Dennis Barnhart officiating. Interment to follow with military honors at Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Lockbourne United Methodist Church, The Blanton House, or Kindred Hospice.
