Geneva Morrow

d. January 13, 2012

Geneva (Jean) H. Morrow, 98, has received the ultimate gift of healing and has gone to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 13, 2012. She loved and cherished her Hungarian heritage. She enjoyed cooking all her Hungarian specialties: Chicken Paprikas with Dumpling Noodles, Cabbage Rolls, Dios Kifli and Nut Rolls.

Lifelong member of Washington Avenue United Methodist Church. A member of the Senior group "OWLS" and many ladies fellowships. She started the bus ministry for children in the neighborhood and continued it for nearly 20 years. She was always reaching out to help them find Jesus. There were many occasions she would deliver bread, peanut butter and other food items to help them get much needed nutrition. Jean retired from Leighton Heel Company after 25years and went to work at Columbus Paper Box where she also retired after 26 years at the age of 80. Again, even in the work place she was always trying to make a difference. Preceded in death by parents James and Theresa Barrett, husband John, daughter Leola, grandson Scott, son-in-law Jerry Davanzo, sisters Julia Ruziska, Elizabeth Adams, Esther Garbilene and brother Joseph Barrett. Survived by daughters Ruth Davanzo, Betty (Frank) Garbuglio and son-in-law Daniel McKown, Grandchildren, John Daniel (Lisa) McKown, Joyce (Frank) Schneider, Lori (Mark) Wood and Theresa (Keith) Roshon, 13 Great Grandchildren, 10 Great-Great Grandchildren and siblings Rose Hemrick, Mary Hettick, Irene (John) Toth, Blanche Martin, James Barrett, Margaret Mingus and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She has been an inspiration to many, loved and adored by all. Special thanks to Hospice Mt. Carmel, Joyce Reich, Connie Peters, Lou Hancock, special volunteer Mary Kelly, and her spiritual friends and Pastors, Owen Stotts and Ed Linville.
