Gary S. Smith "Smitty" died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born on March 6, 1958 in Lorain, OH. A loving husband, son, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed so much. He was a longtime resident of Hamilton Meadows and a graduate of Hamilton Township High School. He was an employee of Amtecko Industries for over 33 years up until his passing. Preceded in death by his mother, Patricia A. Firth Smith. Survived by his wife and soulmate of 21 years, Quentina "Tina"; sons, Casey Smith (Keelie Eads) and Michael (Sarah) Friedheim; granddaughters, Kelsea, Kaitlyn and Kiley Friedheim; father, William P. Smith; sister, Julia Smith (Phil Gilliland); as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his best friends, Chris "Daub" and Bobby G., with whom he shared a cold one many nights around the fire pit. Gary was an avid fisherman and will be missed on Wednesday night's golf league. He was a cancer (leukemia) survivor. A man of true passion and talent, he loved nothing more than to spend time with his beautiful grandbabies, family and friends and cheer for his beloved Buckeyes as well as the Miami (OH) Red Hawks, where his son Casey is a student coach. Friends may visit Wednesday, March 13th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will take place Thursday at 10 AM, Rev. Naaman Nakanishi officiating. Burial to follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org).
