Fred W. Kreutz

Fred W. Kreutz, age 92, of Canal Winchester, died on Friday, November 12, 2021. Born in 1929 in Columbus. Fred graduated from South High School in 1947 and after many years as a General Contractor retired from Kreutz Construction, a construction company founded by his father. He was a Korean War veteran serving with the Army’s 3rd Armored Division (1951-52).  Fred was dedicated to serving God, church, community, and family. At the time of his death, he was an active member of Groveport Zion Lutheran Church and had previously been a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in south Columbus, Ralph R. Rickly Lodge #670 F&AM, Aladdin Shrine Center (Legion of Honor Unit); Royal Order of Jesters, Columbus Court #8; Southeast Lions Club; American Legion Southway Post #144; and Kiwanis Club of Tri-County.  He also served on the Board of Directors of the Mercy Hospital Association, St. Anthony’s Hospital and Faith Mission.  Throughout his lifetime, Fred was a serious card player, belonging to multiple card clubs, as well as an avid collector of many things. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Helen (Jaeger); wife Gail (Guyer) with whom he was married for 63 years; son (Fritz) and baby daughter (Mitzi) as well as sisters Helen (Paul) Gaulke) and Lillian (Jack) Woodworth.  Fred is survived by his brother, Donn; daughter, Louise (Chuck) McKirgan; son Jeffrey (Deanna) Kreutz and daughter-in-law Chilis Kreutz; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Kreutz, Justin (Courtney) McKirgan, Katie (Collin) Gilliland, Casey (Kelly) McKirgan, Darryl (Zak) Dunham, and Jarred (Bailee) Kreutz; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous well-loved nieces, nephews, and friends.  Friends may visit on Friday, November 19, 2021, beginning at 4 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life ceremony at 6:30 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, OH 43207, with Pastor Floyd L.
