Frank Blakeman III.

Frank Blakeman III., passed away on Sunday May 30, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving wife of 67 years and two children. Frank was born October 8, 1934, in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania to Frank H. Blakeman II., and Mary Williams Blakeman. He wore many titles over the years such as farmer, bus driver, milkman, grocery store owner, trampoline park owner and operator of Oakes Trailer Court, however he is most known for being the owner and operator of Blakeman Excavating and Scioto Trail Swim Club for 40 plus years, providing lifetime memories for the community. Frank wed Peggy Ramsey on June 24, 1954. They spent their years together raising 3 children, taking care of businesses, and spoiling their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After retirement, the couple moved to Carroll, Ohio where Frank was able to enjoy his favorite activities such as mowing and gardening. Along with Peggy, Frank is survived by his sister, Pat Dewitt; son, Robert (Dawn) Blakeman and daughter, Barbara Blakeman Matos; grandchildren, Jennifer Richards, Julia (Doug) Purdy, Anthony Blakeman, Kaylie Burnette, Chelsie (Daniel) McClelland, Grant Bickham; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, and son, William Blakeman.

Family will receive friends and family on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 4 – 7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43207, where service will be held Friday, June 4, 2021, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dr. Tim W. Stout officiating. Final resting place will take place at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairhope Hospice of Lancaster.
