Dr. Floyd Vortman Stolzenburg, age 92, of Bexley, went to be with His Lord, September 4, 2008 at Lutheran Village. During his long life, he was privileged to serve as principal of Bexley Junior High School and Cressingham Elementary. Upon retirement, he earned his doctorate in counseling and provided personal and family counseling for 25 more years. He also was blessed to serve as interim pastor at Peace Lutheran Church, Canal Winchester, for nearly two years. He held degrees from Capital (where he enjoyed athletics), The Ohio State University, and Clayton University. He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife of nearly 60 years, Claudine, and his parents, Pastor Otto and Henrietta Stolzenburg. Survived by his son, Pastor Floyd Luther (Chris) Stolzenburg; grandchildren, Mark Stolzenburg, Kristine Stolzenburg, John (Janelle) Byus and Linda (Dennis) Goodwin; 7 great-grandchildren and relatives and dear friends, Linda, Tom, Cindy, Sara, Sue, Gene, John, Diane, George, Bud and Susan and many others whose life he touched. The celebration of his eternal home going will be held Monday 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 766 S. High St., where he was a member for 88 years, with Pastor Larry Kudart officiating. Visitation Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street and one hour before the service at the church. Entombment will be in the Chapel Mausoleum at Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to contribute to the Stolzenburg Gift Bible Fund at Zion Lutheran Church, 766 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43206.
