Emmit O. Stephenson, age 89, of Columbus, died Friday February 12, 2010. Born February 8, 1921 in Logan, Ohio. U.S. Navy Veteran WWII, served as Electrician's Mate First Class on the USS GUITARRO. Retired electrician; 60 year member of I.B.E.W. Local No. 683. Life member of U.S. Submarine Veterans WWII and VFW Post in Whitehall. Preceded in death by son Phillip Scott Stephenson. Survived by wife of 63 years Lillian "Petey" Stephenson; daughters Lynn (Michael) Walcoff of Pittsburgh and Lori (Robert) Winship of Pataskala; grandchildren Aaron, Jennifer, Abigail, Joel and Matthew; great-grandchildren Jude, Caroline, Emma, Christian, Caden and Samantha; sister Susan Isbell of Edgefield, SC; several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and inurnment with Military Honors Saturday 11 a.m. at Green Lawn Cemetery (Veterans Section 105) 1000 Greenlawn Ave., Columbus OH 43223 with a Celebration of Life and Memorial Service to follow 12:15 p.m. at Whitehall VFW Post, 4100 E.
