Dorothy Zubovich

Dorothy (Persig) Cox Zubovich, age 90, resident of South Side, Columbus, and lifelong member of Thurman Avenue United Methodist Church, passed away on August 13, 2014 at The Caring Touch Assisted Living Facility, where she was lovingly cared for by the staff. She was the daughter of the late William H. and Florence D. Persig. She was a 1941 (June class) graduate of South High School and a retiree of American Education Publications (Xerox). She was well known as a "doll lady," and as an active member of numerous organizations, including the senior citizen exercise group at Schiller Park and the Racing Bulldogs senior citizen race car team. She was preceded in death by her husband Adam N. Zubovich; sister and brother-in-law, Mary(Persig) and Richard Poenisch; beloved nieces Karen Poenisch Litzenberger and Kristen Poenisch Howard; grand nephew William "Billy" Latta. She is survived by children Jean Cox Baybrook (Thomas) of Manassas, Virginia, and Robert W. Cox (Kathy) of Circleville, Ohio; grandchildren Thomas Baybrook, Jr. and Lee M. Baybrook (Jami) of Virginia; Lindsey K. Cox, Andrew R. Cox (Angela) of Circleville; Lacey Cox Huffman (Clay) of Medina, and Stuart W. Cox (Ashley) of Ashville; great grandsons Leighton Andrew Cox and Lee Jamison Baybrook; grand niece Laura Latta Strickland (Michael) of Westerville, and their children, Mallory, William, and Avery Strickland; grand nephew Richard Nemes; step children Roseann Zubovich Horvath, Donna Zubovich Fisher, and Michael Zubovich; seven step grandchildren; special friends Betty Garver, Judy Hessenauer, and Ginny Hessenauer Buda; Friends are invited for visitation Friday, August 15, 2014 from 4-8 p.m., at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Saturday 11 a.m., Rev. Clay Huffman officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Cemetery in Circleville, Ohio.
