Dorothy (Slagle) Booth, age 95, of Columbus, born August 6, 1920 passed away October 24, 2015. Dorothy was raised on a farm in Galloway, Ohio with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She always enjoyed returning to the open space of country life even though she lived most of her life in the same house in Columbus, Ohio. Dorothy loved watching her dad race sulky horses as a young girl and continued to enjoy horse races on TV in her later years. She took great pride in being a very good homemaker. A loving and caring wife to her husband, Gus, and devoted mother to her only child, Ed, of whom she was very proud. She was a simple, honest, hardworking woman who found her pleasures in the lives of her husband and son, maintaining a nice home, visiting with family, and summer gardening. Dorothy was a friendly person who was polite and did not like to offend anyone.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Augustus Booth; parents, John and Geneva Slagle; siblings, Charley, Johnny, and Charlotte; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Anne Booth, and nephew, David Booth.
Survived by son, Edward Booth; granddaughter, Whitney, who loved her very much; sister, Mary Jane (John) Emmelhainz; nieces, Nanci (David) Gobey and Patricia (Robert) White; nephew, Jeff Emmelhainz; and several other nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street. Graveside service to follow at 2 p.m. at Green Lawn Cemetery (procession to form at cemetery main entrance) Rev. Dr. William L.
