Doris Howett

Doris V. Howett, 94 years of age, born January 27, 1920 in Altoona, PA., died October 28, 2014. Third oldest of four daughters born to Elmer and Mamie Boyer. Lived most of her life in York, PA where she met and eventually married Earl R. Howett on August 24, 1940. Preceded in death by husband, Earl, parents, and three sisters. She is survived by son, Earl R. Howett, Jr. (Elaine) whom she lived with for 10 years before moving into National Church Residence at Mill Run in Hilliard, Ohio for the final two years of her life. Also survived by granddaughters, Angela (Shawn) Burgess, and Cindi (Daniel) Clifford; great-grandchildren, Lauren Barber, Chad Burgess, Maggie Clifford, Audrey Clifford, and John Joseph Clifford; niece, Marti (Nelson) Leader and their family of York Pa. The family wishes to say thank you to the wonderful, skilled, and professional people in all levels of care at National Church Residence at Mill Run, who made her final time with us as comfortable as possible.
