Donald McClain

Donald A. McClain, loving husband and father, born January 8, 1930 in Johnstown, PA, passed away June 28, 2017 in Columbus at Kobacker House surrounded by family. U.S. Army Veteran, Korean War. Member of Zion Lutheran Church (German Village). Retired from CSX Railroad. Graduate of Beaver Falls High School in PA; B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Preceded in death by parents, Reverend Ernest and Ruth McClain and sister, Shirley Quay.

Survived by wife, Ruth of 58 years; daughters, Diane (John) Bengson, Lynne Weimer, and Lisa (Jim) Elliott; grandchildren, Shaun (Abigail), Joel and Emma Bengson, Sarah and Anna Weimer, Nicole and Emily Elliott; great-grandson, Louis Bengson; sisters, Jean Krivoski, Carol Foster, Vada (Harold) Damaska, Kay (Gene) Rockwell, and Helen Martindale; many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Friday, June 30, 2017 from 4 - 7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street. Service Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. (visitation one hour prior) at Zion Lutheran Church, 766 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43206, Pastor Larry Kudart officiating. Interment to follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, Ohio. Family suggest those who wish may direct memorial contributions to Zion Lutheran Church, LSS Food Pantry, or Kobacker House.
