Donald Daubitz

Donald Carl Daubitz, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2021, at Kobacker House Hospice. He was born January 9, 1929 in Columbus, OH to the late Carl Peter Daubitz and Nina Viola Daubitz. He attended South High School in Columbus. Donald married Patricia on April 9, 1949 whom he met at Par Gates Confectionery in the south end of Columbus. Soon after they were married, they moved into their new home in Obetz that Donald personally built and where they raised their family and lived happily for 62 years before Patricia’s passing in 2012. Donald was a member of the Obetz Lutheran Church. He served his country in the Navy from 1946-1948 during WWII and was honorably discharged.  He was an excellent electrician and member of IBEW Local Union 683 since 1949.

Donald was a wonderful example of strength, love, faith, kindness, compassion, humility and generosity. He always showed a genuine interest and respect for his family, friends, and anyone who crossed his path. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his grandson Justin Daubitz; and brother Richard Daubitz. Donald and Patricia were blessed with their children, Dona-Daubitz Barry and Michael Barry of Lanesville, IN, Mark Daubitz of Grove City, OH., and Chris Daubitz of Columbus, OH and sister Elaine Wright (Phil-deceased) of Bexley, OH. Donald and Patricia were also blessed with grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren, Chip (Glynn Bryan) Irvin of Louisville, KY., Miranda-Daubitz Powell and Fred Powell parents of great-granddaughter Elliana of Powell, OH, Tyler and Janet Daubitz, parents of great-granddaughter Taylor and great-grandson Blake of Dublin, OH., David and Cassie Daubitz, parents of great-grandson Noah of Circleville; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends, Friday April 30th, 2021 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10 a.m., Pastor Leslie Fox Lott officiating with interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, 8029 E.
