Electronics Technician Submarine Navigation Seaman Devan A. VanLangen, age 20, of Columbus, Ohio, died unexpectedly as a result of an automobile accident in Florida on September 14, 2024. Devan was assigned to Kings Bay, Georgia, USS Maryland. Devan graduated from Eastland Career Center and Hamilton Township High School.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Donald and Linda Vanlangen and Steven Evans, and uncle, Richard VanLangen. Survived by his parents, Donald Vanlangen and Tammy Evans; siblings, Ashton (Tamren Meade) Evans, Andrew (Madison Thurman) Evans, Donald (Amber) VanLangen III., Cody VanLangen, Courtey VanLangen, and Dalton Smith; grandmother, Judy Crabtree Evans. nieces and nephews, Harper Evans, Octavia Evans, Donald VanLangen IV, David VanLangen, Lilah VanLangen, Cheyanne VanLangen, Grayson VanLangen, and Kensley VanLangen; aunts, Heather (Jason) Montgomery and Gloria (Ershel) Wheeler; uncles, Steven (Tricia) Evans and Bobby (Shannon) Anthony; cousins, Kloe Montgomery, Andrew "Ace" Evans, Brooklyn Anthony, Tyler Anthony, Chaz Wheeler, Colin Wheeler, Christa Wheeler, other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Pastor Timothy Lee officiating with military honors by the U.S. Navy at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at Obetz Cemetery.
