David C. Gruber

David C. Gruber, age 79, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away on March 11, 2024. David was a Graduate of Columbus South High School, class of 1962 and was continually active in the Columbus South High Alumni. David retired from Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central, Conrail, and Norfolk Southern. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Veteran & Railway Employees and Mutual Beneficial Association (Fraternal Benefit Society, Railway). David enjoyed photography and photographed various events for the Railroad Associations and Columbus South High School Alumni. He had a passion for taking pictures of trains and capturing beautiful photographs during his travels in the United States and throughout Europe. David loved dogs, especially Dachshunds, his two favorites were his loving pets, Stormy and Chipper. David deeply loved his family and spending time with them as well as with friends. 

David is preceded in death by wife, Kathryn Gruber; parents, Gerald and Pearl Gruber. He is Survived by sons, David J. (Paula) Gruber and Jeffrey S. (Dorie) Gruber; grandchildren, Ian, Katelyn, Evan and Alyson Gruber; brother Gerald Gruber; nephews, Tony (Michelle) Gruber and Ed (Marte) Gruber.

Family will receive friends, Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 3 to 7 pm at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, OH. 43207 where funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 15, 2024, with David Petry officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg.
