Clara Hermann

May 12, 1915 — March 25, 2010

We mourn the loss as we celebrate the life of Clara M. Hermann, age 94, our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep at Twin Maples Nursing Home in McArthur, OH on March 25, 2010. She was preceded in death by her son Jan Hermann, daughter Donna Lee Haislett and her sister Geneva Parker. The mother of 6 children, and grandmother of 14 and who enjoyed many great-grandchildren. Clara was born on May 12, 1915 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Sherman and Emma Clymer. She was raised in Lancaster and settled in Columbus. She is survived by children, Barbara (Iver) Igelsrud of Colorado, LeRoy (Teri) Hermann of Illinois., Pamela (Lefty) Buckley and Patricia (Bob) Osborne all of McArthur; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Clara spent over 40 years at Grant Medical Center as a faithful and tireless employee, House Mother for the School of Nursing, coffee shop manager, security, and finally as a loyal and smiling volunteer until she was 89. An active member of the Marion Square Senior Center for many years, Clara enjoyed singing in the chorus. She acted in plays and skits and marched and performed with the Marion Square drill team. A faithful member of the Eastwood Seventh Day Adventist Church, she really looked forward to their summer camp meetings. Clara leaves many friends along with her devoted family who will miss her infectious enthusiasm for life. She faced her final illness with dignity and an amazing smile we will never forget. To all who knew Clara, come and help us celebrate the long life of this remarkable woman. Visitation Monday 3-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S.
