Carla Ranft

Carla Roberta Ranft (Kuepfer), 88, of Johnstown, Ohio, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carla was born to her mother and Swiss father in 1936 in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from South High School in 1954 and soon thereafter began her life as a loving wife and mother. Following raising her children, she went to work in the insurance profession until retirement. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her kindness, love of sports and creative talent of scrapbooking and card making. She was a devout member and volunteer at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, German Village, Columbus, Ohio. Those who knew Carla will remember her passion for The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals.

Carla is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lu Ranft; parents Robert and Dorthy Kuepfer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Myrtle Ranft; sister Dorli Bingmer; brother Walter Kuepfer; and brother-in-law Paul Ranft. Survived by her children Debbie (Chip) Jackson, Marty (Kathy) Ranft, Amy (Mike) Skaggs, Rob (Kim) Ranft, Michael (Crystal) Ranft, and Andy (Lisa) Ranft; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Neb Ranft and Diana Martin, and many nieces and nephews.

 Family will receive friends Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, OH. 43207 where service will be held Friday November 22, 2024, at 10:00 am with Pastor Ross Gottschalk officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
